China Correspondent: Aiming to build an international exchange platform for rural cultural construction, promote mutual learning among different civilizations, and promote President Xi Jinping’s green development concept, the International Dialogue on Culture and Rural Revitalization was held successfully in China. With the theme of Harmonious Coexistence, the dialogue was held in Anji County, Huzhou City of Zhejiang Province on 28 April.

The dialogue was jointly hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and jointly organized by Huzhou People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Anji County People’s Government.

Zhu Dan, Director of the Cultural Exchange Department of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, presided over the event while Korn Dabbaransi, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and President of the Thai-Chinese Friendship Association delivered the keynote address in the dialogue.

Besides that Li Xikui, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Ye Zhengbo, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Zhejiang Province; Wang Chunwan, Mauritius Ambassador to China; Kamal Chaulagain, Central Committee Member of Nepal Communist Party and Chief of Central Co-operatives and Poverty Alleviation Department, other diplomats and dignitaries attended the in the dialogue and delivered speeches.

Korn Dabbaransi said that he has visited China more than 140 times, and this visit left the deepest impression on him. As the most populous country in the world, China has made great achievements in the effective connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitalization and has made important contributions to the world’s poverty reduction and development.

Li Xikui said that the countryside is the spiritual home of human beings, the source of human civilization development, and has incomparable cultural value. The Chinese nation has a history of farming for thousands of years, and rural culture centered on farming is an important part of traditional Chinese culture. For thousands of years, the countryside has profoundly shaped the basic ideology of the Chinese nation with its unique natural environment, production, and lifestyle. We are willing to carry out people-to-people and cultural exchanges with people of other countries in an open, inclusive and cooperative manner, promote cultural integration, and promote people-to-people bonds, so as to make Chinese-style modernization a new form of human civilization and enrich the garden of world civilizations.

The dialogue was held on the three topics of “Inheritance and Innovation of Rural Culture”, “Integration of Rural Cultural and Tourist Industries” and “International Cooperation and Experience Sharing of Rural Development” in order to promote exchanges and mutual learning between different civilizations, and join hands to walk the road of modernization, and actively offer advice and suggestions.

At the dialogue, Chinese and foreign guests expressed that they would give full play to their respective advantages to promote the green development of the countryside from the perspectives of people and society, co-existence and co-prosperity between people and nature, and promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and work together for a better future for mankind.

More than 100 Chinese and foreign delegates from Bangladesh, Nepal, America, UK, Afghanistan, Morocco, Pakistan, Laos, Thailand, Greek, Norway, Mauritius, Nigeria, Kenya, and other countries and regions participated in the dialogue. The winners of the “China in My Eyes” short video contest from 19 countries on 4 continents, listened to the discussion of dialogue on-site.
