Sino-Bangla Desk: With the slogan of “We are one”, the Daffodil International University Belt and Road Research Centre in Bangladesh has magnificently organized its very first Chinese Corner with a collaboration of Overseas Education School of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics in China as a part of the year-long series activities of Chinese corner under the name of “Bangladesh & China Youth Talk 2022-23”.

On Sunday afternoon, this Chinese Corner has successfully held via Zoom link. The main objective of this Chinese Corner is to develop and enhance deep ties among two nations through the exchange of language, literature, and cross-cultural activities in a blended platform.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean of Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship (FBE) at Daffodil International University and Director of Daffodil International University Belt and Road Research Centre chaired the Chinese Corner.

Dr. AKM Mohsin, the Deputy Director of the DIU Belt and Road Research Centre and Kadirya, Team Leader of Septune of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics have moderated the Chinese Corner.

Professor Dr. Weihua Ye, Dean of Overseas Education School of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) was present at the Chinese Corner as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. James Yu, Director of International College of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) was present as the Special Guest. Mohammad Saiyedul Islam, Doctoral Fellow in the School of International Trade and Economics at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and Senior Research Fellow of Daffodil International University Belt and Road Research Centre was concluded with the closing remark in the Chinese Corner.

Focusing on the strong bilateral relationship between China and Bangladesh Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal explained the importance of this cross-cultural exchange program. He also appreciated the Chinese Corner Initiative.

Professor Dr. Weihua Ye addressed cross-cultural exchange opportunities and other academic cooperation between Daffodil International University Belt and Road Research Centre and Overseas Education School of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. He also mentioned the importance of this Chinese Corner in order to promote Belt and Road Initiative.

The whole arrangement was to bring together two nations with an illustrious history of culture. Two nations uphold their respective cultural identity through activities like language learning, song, dance, and calligraphy. The participants of the program came to know about the views and ethnic values of each other. More importantly, they are upgrading their self-identity to a global extent with international exposure to culture.

From now, Daffodil International University Belt and Road Research Centre and Overseas Education School of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) will organize Chinese corners each month for the year 2022-23.

Noted that, Daffodil International University Belt and Road Research Centre aims to produce academic and policy papers and enable the development of area-specific research topics on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This is the first complete China-based think-tank in Bangladesh, particularly China’s Belt and Road Initiative
